Murli Manohar Joshi (conceived 5 January 1934), a leading and veteran leader from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of which he was the President in between the year 1991 and 1993, and the present member of Parliament from Kanpur. He later turned into the Union Human Resource development minister in the NDA (National Democratic Alliance) government. He finished his B.Sc. from Meerut School and M.Sc. from Allahabad College. He did his doctorate at Allahabad College. The subject of his doctoral proposition was spectroscopy.
